Agromyza myosotidis is a small fly characteristic of the family Agromyzidae. Based on observations of museum specimens, the species exhibits a compact, dark-bodied form typical of many leaf-miner flies. The specimens show a distinct, rounded head with prominent compound eyes and a pair of short, forward-projecting antennae. The thorax is robust and dark, often appearing matte or slightly metallic, while the wings are clear and membranous with a characteristic venation pattern typical of the genus Agromyza. The legs are slender and dark, consistent with the overall coloration of the body.[1]
Agromyza myosotidis was originally described by Kaltenbach in 1864.[2] Recent entomological surveys have expanded the known distribution of this species, including new records from Morocco, which contributes to the documented diversity of agromyzid flies in that region.[3]
