Visual Description
Agromyza frontella, commonly known as the alfalfa blotch leafminer, is a small fly characteristic of the family Agromyzidae. Observations of specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal a dark-bodied insect with clear, membranous wings that extend beyond the abdomen.[1] The head features prominent compound eyes, and the thorax is robust, typical of many agromyzid species.[1]
Ecology
Agromyza frontella is an agromyzid leafminer.[2] Members of the family Agromyzidae serve as hosts for various parasitoid wasps, including species within the genus Diglyphus (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae).[3]
