Visual Description
Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, Agromyza fission is a small fly characteristic of the family Agromyzidae.[1] The specimens exhibit a dark, generally blackish body coloration. The wings are clear and membranous, with distinct venation typical of the genus Agromyza.[1]
Biology and Distribution
Agromyza fission was described by Eiseman and Lonsdale in 2018.[2] The species was formally described in the publication "New state and host records for Agromyzidae (Diptera) in the United States, with the description of thirty new species."[2] It is recognized as an accepted species within the genus Agromyza.[3]
