Visual Description
Agromyza filipendulae is a small fly characteristic of the family Agromyzidae. Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, the adult exhibits a generally dark, often blackish, body coloration typical of many agromyzids. The wings are clear and membranous with distinct venation patterns characteristic of the order Diptera. The head features prominent compound eyes and short antennae.[1]
Ecology and Biology
Agromyza filipendulae was described by Spencer in 1976.[2] As a member of the Agromyzidae, it is a leaf-mining fly. It has been documented to interact with Filipendula ulmaria (meadowsweet).[3]
