Visual Description
Agromyza ambrosivora is a small fly characteristic of the family Agromyzidae. Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, the adult exhibits a generally dark, often blackish or brownish-black coloration typical of many species in the genus Agromyza.[1] The body structure is compact, with clear, membranous wings that are held over the abdomen when at rest.[1]
Biology and Distribution
Agromyza ambrosivora was described by Kenneth A. Spencer in 1969 in his work on the Agromyzidae of Canada and Alaska.[2] As a member of the Agromyzidae, it is part of a family of flies commonly known as leaf miners, where the larvae typically feed within the tissues of host plants.[3]
