Visual Description
Agromyza albipennis is a species of leaf-mining fly. Based on examination of preserved specimens, the adult flies exhibit typical agromyzid morphology, characterized by a small body size and dark coloration. The wings are generally clear or slightly infuscated, a trait consistent with many members of the genus Agromyza[1].
Biology and Ecology
Agromyza albipennis was described by Johann Wilhelm Meigen in 1830[2]. Like other members of the family Agromyzidae, the larvae of this species are typically leaf miners, feeding within the tissues of their host plants. Recent research has established new host plant records for Agromyza albipennis based on material collected in Ukraine[3].
