Visual Description
Agromyza abiens is a small fly typical of the family Agromyzidae. Observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset show a dark-bodied insect with clear, membranous wings that are held flat over the abdomen when at rest.[1] The body exhibits a generally robust, compact form, and the head features prominent compound eyes.[1]
Distribution and Records
Agromyza abiens was originally described by Zetterstedt in 1848.[2] The species has been identified as a new continental record for North America.[3]
