Visual Description
Agria mamillata is a species of flesh fly within the family Sarcophagidae. Based on observations of specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, the species exhibits typical dipteran morphology, characterized by a robust, bristly body structure common to many sarcophagids.[1]
Ecology and Behavior
Agria mamillata is known to be a polyphagous predator. Research conducted in the Netherlands has documented this species preying upon the fifth-instar larvae and pupae of Yponomeuta moths.[2] It has been identified within parasitoid assemblages associated with several Yponomeuta host species, including Y. cagnagellus, Y. evonymellus, Y. padellus, and Y. rorellus.[2]
