Global Biotic Interactions records Agelas sventres as a mutualist association with the zoanthid Parazoanthus swiftii. [2]
A study of a marine sponge identified only as “Agelas sp.” reported antibacterial activity from an ethanol extract of its sponge-associated symbiont bacterium Bacillus cereus MH997647 IA5. The bacterial extract showed inhibition of ESBL-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae, and the authors performed LC-MS/MS profiling of the extract fractions. [3]
