This species is a Palaearctic flat-footed fly that is common in Central Europe, including Slovakia.[1] Its distribution also extends into the Oriental Region, with records from Taiwan.[1] The larvae of A. antennata are known to develop in the fungus Bjerkandera adusta.[1]
