Afrosepsis is a genus of flies in the family Sepsidae. It was described by the entomologist A.L. Ozerov in 1996.[2] The genus is recognized as an accepted name within the Sepsidae family.[2]
Based on examination of museum specimens within the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, members of the genus Afrosepsis exhibit typical sepsid morphology, characterized by a slender, ant-like body form.[1] The specimens display a distinct, often dark-colored thorax and abdomen, with relatively long, thin legs.[1] The wings are generally clear and held in a characteristic position typical of the family.[1]
