Based on observations of museum specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, Afronemopoda flies exhibit typical sepsid morphology.[2] They possess a slender, ant-like body form, which is a characteristic feature of the family Sepsidae. The specimens show dark, sclerotized bodies with distinct, relatively long, thin legs. The wings are generally clear or slightly infuscated, and the head is rounded with prominent eyes.[2]
