Visual Description
Afrocneros mundus is a species of fruit fly within the family Tephritidae. Observations of specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal characteristic tephritid morphology, including patterned wings with distinct dark markings and a robust thorax.[1] The wings exhibit a complex, reticulated or banded pattern typical of many fruit flies, which serves as a diagnostic feature. General Information
Afrocneros mundus (Loew, 1863) is an accepted species name in the family Tephritidae.[2] It is commonly referred to as the Cabbagetree Fruitfly.[2] The species was originally described by H. Loew in 1863 under the name Trypeta munda.[2]
