Distribution and Ecology
Aenigmatias lubbocki (Verrall, 1877) is a Palaearctic species distributed across Europe and parts of Asia, including China.[2] In Bulgaria, it has been documented in the Central Stara Planina Mountains and on Vitosha Mountain, where specimens were collected using Malaise traps in subalpine and mountain habitats.[2]
The species is known to have parasitic associations with ants, specifically species within the genus Formica, such as Formica fusca and Formica picea.[3]
