Visual Description
Aedes muelleri is a mosquito species. Observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset indicate that, like other members of the family Culicidae, it possesses a slender body form typical of mosquitoes.[1] Visible traits include long, thin legs and a pair of wings attached to the thorax. The head features prominent compound eyes and elongated mouthparts (proboscis) adapted for feeding.[1]
History and Classification
Aedes muelleri was described by the entomologist Harrison Gray Dyar in 1920.[2] The species is currently accepted within the genus Aedes.[2]
