Aedes dupreei, commonly known as Dupree's floodwater mosquito, is a species of mosquito in the family Culicidae. It was originally described by D.W. Coquillett in 1904 as Culex dupreei [2].
The classification of the tribe Aedini, which includes the genus Aedes, has undergone significant revision. Previous studies proposed elevating many subgenera to the rank of genus, but these were later re-evaluated to prioritize taxonomic stability and utility, leading to a more simplified classification system where many of these groups are treated as subgenera or informal species groups [3].
