This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Aedes allotecnon exhibits the characteristic morphology of the family Culicidae, featuring a slender body, long, delicate legs, and a pair of functional wings. Observations of specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal a dark-colored thorax and abdomen, consistent with many members of the genus Aedes.[1] The head possesses prominent compound eyes and elongated, thread-like antennae. Due to the resolution of the available imagery, finer diagnostic features such as specific scale patterns on the scutum or abdominal tergites cannot be definitively resolved.[1]
Aedes allotecnon was described by Kumm, Komp, and Ruiz in 1940.[2] It is a recognized species within the genus Aedes.[2] Genetic data for this species is available through public sequence databases.[3]
