Adrama determinata is a species of fruit fly within the family Tephritidae. Based on photographic observations, the adult fly exhibits a distinct, elongated body form typical of many tephritids. Key visible features include large, prominent compound eyes that often display a patterned or banded appearance. The thorax and abdomen are characterized by a light brown or yellowish-brown coloration, often with darker longitudinal markings or patterns on the dorsal surface. The wings are generally clear with dark, transverse bands or markings, which are characteristic of many species in this family.[1]
Adrama determinata (Walker, 1856) is a recognized species within the family Tephritidae, known to be present in Indonesia.[2][3] Historically, there has been taxonomic confusion regarding the classification of various fruit fly species in Indonesia, with many species previously assigned to the genus Dacus being reclassified into Bactrocera; however, Adrama determinata remains distinct within the family Tephritidae.[2] The species was originally described by Francis Walker in 1856 as Dacus determinatus.[3]
