Visual Description
Adoxomyia dahlii is a soldier fly characterized by a dark, metallic-appearing body. Observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset indicate that the species possesses prominent, dark-colored eyes and antennae that are partly brownish-orange, with a dark brown to black third segment.[1] The legs are bicolored, with at least the femora being black.[2]
Distribution and Taxonomy
Adoxomyia dahlii (Meigen, 1830) is an accepted species within the family Stratiomyidae.[3] It was originally described under the name Clitellaria dahlii Meigen, 1830.[3] Within the genus Adoxomyia, it is one of seven species identified in Turkey.[2]
