Visual Description
Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, Acupalpa boharti exhibits the general body form characteristic of stiletto flies (Therevidae).[1] The specimens display a slender, elongated abdomen and relatively long, thin legs. The thorax and abdomen are covered in fine, hair-like setae, and the wings are clear with distinct venation patterns typical of the family.[1]
Distribution and Classification
Acupalpa boharti was described by Shaun L. Winterton in 2011.[2] The species is part of the genus Acupalpa, which was revised by Winterton in a 2011 study that also provided a key to Australasian genera of Therevidae.[2]
