Actorthia canescens is a species of stiletto fly within the family Therevidae. While specific morphological details are difficult to resolve from the available museum specimen images, the genus Actorthia generally exhibits characteristics typical of the family, including a slender, elongated body form.[1]
Actorthia canescens was originally described by the entomologist Jacques Marie Frangile Surcouf in 1921, under the basionym Lesneus canescens.[2] It is currently recognized as an accepted species within the genus Actorthia.[2]
