General Information
Actenoptera is a genus of flies in the family Piophilidae, first described by Czerny in 1904 [2]. The genus is sometimes associated with the group Neottiophilidae, which includes Actenoptera and the genus Neottiophilum [3]. Actenoptera comprises three known species: two Palaearctic and one Nearctic [3].
