Actenomeros paradoxa is a stiletto fly characterized by a slender body form. Observations of preserved specimens reveal long, thin, yellowish-orange legs equipped with dark, spine-like setae. The wings are clear with distinct venation. The thorax exhibits a brownish, longitudinally striped appearance, while the abdomen is elongated with dark, transverse bands. The head features large, prominent compound eyes.[1]
Actenomeros paradoxa (Winterton & Irwin, 1999) is a species of stiletto fly belonging to the family Therevidae and the subfamily Agapophytinae. It was originally described in the genus Nanexila but was subsequently transferred to the endemic Australian genus Actenomeros as part of a taxonomic review.[2][3]
