Based on observations of museum specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, Acronacantha exhibits typical tachinid morphology.[1] The specimens display a robust, bristly body characteristic of the family. The wings are notably marked, with distinct infuscation or clouding patterns, which is consistent with the species name nubilipennis (meaning "cloudy-winged"). The thorax and abdomen are covered in dense, dark setae, and the overall coloration is generally dark, typical of many members of the subfamily Tachininae.
Acronacantha is a genus of flies in the family Tachinidae, first described by the Dutch entomologist Frederik Maurits van der Wulp in 1891.[2] It is recognized as an accepted genus within the family.[2]
