Acrodicrania bifasciata is a fungus gnat within the family Mycetophilidae. Observations of preserved specimens from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal a slender, delicate body typical of the family.[1] The specimens exhibit long, thin legs and elongated, membranous wings that extend beyond the abdomen. The thorax is notably arched, a characteristic feature of many mycetophilids, and the antennae are filiform and relatively long.[1]
Acrodicrania bifasciata was described by the entomologist F.W. Edwards in 1928.[2] The species was formally documented in his work on the Diptera Nematocera from the Federated Malay States Museums.[2]
