Taxonomic History
Acrochaeta convexifrons (McFadden, 1971) was originally described under the genus Merosargus Loew.[2] It was subsequently transferred to the genus Acrochaeta Wiedemann as part of a comprehensive taxonomic revision of the Neotropical members of this genus.[3]
