Acridophagus is a genus of small flies within the family Mythicomyiidae. Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, members of this genus exhibit a compact, robust body form typical of many mythicomyiids.[1] The head is relatively large in proportion to the thorax, and the wings are often held in a characteristic position when at rest.[1]
General Information
Acridophagus was described by Evenhuis in 1983.[2] It is an accepted genus within the family Mythicomyiidae.[2]
