Acompha is a genus of flies within the family Richardiidae. The genus includes species such as Acompha costalis (Wiedemann) and Acompha punctifrons Hendel.[2]
The genus is characterized by specific wing patterns and chaetotaxy. Acompha costalis is noted for its piceous blackish body, brownish-black legs, and a wing length of approximately 4.2 mm. Its wings are hyaline, featuring a narrow dark brown costal border that extends to the end of the third vein. The head of A. costalis has a U-shaped vertical area and an oval ocellar area covered with fine whitish tomentum, while the abdomen is strongly petiolate at the basal syntergum.[2]
