This page represents the following TreeOfLife-200M taxonomic path.[1]
Based on observations of specimens in the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, members of the genus Acodiplosis are small, delicate flies characteristic of the family Cecidomyiidae.[1] They typically exhibit a slender body form with long, thin legs and antennae. The wings are often clear or lightly patterned, and the overall body coloration is frequently muted, ranging from yellowish to brownish tones, which may aid in camouflage on their host plants.[1]
Acodiplosis is a genus of gall midges within the family Cecidomyiidae.[2] These insects are known to interact with specific host plants, where they often induce the formation of galls. For example, Acodiplosis pulicariae has been documented interacting with Pulicaria odora, and Acodiplosis inulae is associated with plants in the genus Inula.[3]
