Visual Description
Acnemia comata is a small fly characteristic of the family Mycetophilidae. Observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset indicate that the species possesses a slender, elongated body typical of fungus gnats.[1] Key visible traits include long, thin legs and wings that are held folded over the abdomen when at rest. The body coloration is generally brownish, and the head features prominent, relatively large compound eyes.[1]
General Information
Acnemia comata is a species of fungus gnat in the family Mycetophilidae. It was described by the entomologist A. I. Zaitzev in 1982, as part of his work on the Holarctic fauna of the genus Acnemia.[2]
