Visual Description
Members of Achramorphidae are calcareous sponges (Calcarea; order Leucosolenida). In museum specimen images attributed to the family (e.g., Megapogon villosus), colonies appear as attached, branching structures with multiple small openings consistent with a leucosolenidan aquiferous system.
