Morphology and Identification
Acerocnema breviseta (Zetterstedt, 1846) is distinguished by a scutum that is primarily shining and a poorly developed vibrissal angle.[2] These features help differentiate it from related species such as A. gorodkovi, which possesses four shining stripes on the scutum and a well-developed vibrissal angle.[2] In identification keys for Russian Acerocnema, the species is grouped with those having a bare vein R1 and a black postpedicel and fronto-orbital plate.[2]
