Visual Description
Acemya tibialis is a fly characterized by a robust, dark-colored body typical of many tachinids. Observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset reveal a prominent, dark thorax and abdomen, often covered in distinct, stiff bristles (setae).[1] The head features large, reddish-brown compound eyes. The legs are generally dark, with some lighter, yellowish-brown coloration visible on the segments. The wings are translucent and held back over the abdomen when at rest.[1]
