Visual Description
Specimens attributed to Acanthotetilla gorgonosclera (Tetillidae) are depicted as solid, globular to cushion-like sponge bodies. Surfaces show conspicuous structural elements consistent with the tetillid growth form (a compact sponge habit rather than an encrusting or branching morphology). The preserved museum specimen image used here comes from a Zoological Museum (Naturalis Biodiversity Center) preserved specimen record. [2]
