History and Classification
Acanthonevroides nigriventris was originally described by J.R. Malloch in 1939 as Acanthoneura nigriventris.[2] The description was published in the Proceedings of the Linnean Society of New South Wales as part of his work on the Diptera of the Territory of New Guinea.[2] It is currently accepted as a valid species within the genus Acanthonevroides.[2]
