Species Status and Nomenclature
GBIF lists Acanthascus solidus (Schulze, 1899) as an accepted species name. GBIF also notes the basionym Staurocalyptus solidus Schulze, 1899, and provides the vernacular name “sturdy glass sponge.”[2]
