Acanthasargus
Acanthasargus is a genus of soldier flies in the family Stratiomyidae.[1] The genus was described by Arthur White in 1914.[1]

Visual Description
Based on observations from the TreeOfLife-200M dataset, members of the genus Acanthasargus exhibit the characteristic body form of soldier flies.[2] They typically possess a slender, elongated abdomen and a relatively broad thorax. The wings are often clear or lightly tinted, and the legs may show distinct coloration, such as the yellowish legs observed in Acanthasargus flavipes.[2] The eyes in many specimens are large and prominent, occupying a significant portion of the head.
