Visual Description
Acamptocladius submontanus exhibits the characteristic morphology of a non-biting midge. Observations from available imagery show a slender, elongated body typical of the family Chironomidae, with delicate, multi-segmented antennae and long, thin legs. The wings are membranous and held in a characteristic resting position along the dorsal side of the abdomen.[1]
Distribution and Ecology
Acamptocladius submontanus (Edwards, 1932) is known to occur in Finland, where it has been documented across numerous biogeographical provinces, including Ab, N, Ta, Sa, Oa, Tb, Sb, Kb, Om, Ok, Oba, Obb, Ks, Lkoc, Lkor, Le, and Li.[2]
