Ecology and Distribution

Research conducted in shallow polymictic lakes, such as Lake Skomielno in the Polesie Lubelskie region, has identified A. phatta as a dominant taxon within macrophyte-dominated, clear-water environments.[2] The population density of this species can exhibit seasonal variation, with peak abundances observed during summer months.[2] Environmental factors, including water temperature and the concentration of periphytic chlorophyll-a, have been shown to influence the distribution and community composition of A. phatta.[2]
