Visual Description
Ablabesmyia longistyla is a member of the family Chironomidae. Based on observations of museum specimens and citizen science records, the adult form exhibits the characteristic slender, midge-like body structure typical of the family. The wings are generally clear or lightly patterned, and the legs are long and delicate.[1]
Ecology and Distribution
Ablabesmyia longistyla has been documented in the Camargue region of France. Adult specimens have been observed in flight within the domain of the Tour du Valat and in the Lower Camargue area.[2]
