Aaptos tenta is an accepted species of marine sponge (phylum Porifera) within the family Suberitidae. The species was described by Kelly-Borges and Bergquist in 1994. [2]
Photographic records associated with this taxon show an encrusting to mound-like growth form on hard substrate. Individuals appear relatively compact with a textured, porous surface rather than a hollow, cup-shaped body. Records also commonly depict the sponge in situ with surrounding rock or sediment visible.
